Licenses are given out automatically. The first one is assigned to the person who installed the app. Each time that person shares contacts with someone new, another license is used. If contacts are shared with a domain group, every member of that group needs their own license.

If you run out of licenses, any extra users will be marked as “Unlicensed.” You can free up a license by removing a user and reassigning it to someone else.
